Dave Velez Designer and Stamper
Hi my name is Dave Velez and I'll be posting here on the Uchida blog on a regular basis. Some of you may know me from the C.H.A. classes I have been teaching for Marvy/Uchida® for the last three years or from me demoing at their booth during the show. For those of you who don't know me let me introduce myself. I'm a fulltime flight attendant for American Airlines and I've been flying for them for 14 years. Now for my crafting career, I am first and foremost a stamper and love making cards, but I've been known to try a few other mediums in the crafting game. I started stamping around 1998 by going to a Stampin' Up party. My nature is to be very competitive, so my goal was to become better than the Stampin' Up rep. When I started at American, I was on a layover in Seattle WA and shopping at Impress Rubber Stamp store which, in my opinion, was and is the mecca for all stampers. When she found out I was from Chicago she told me the store received 20 to 25 percent of its internet orders from Chicago and then asked if I knew why. She said because there is no store in the city of Chicago. So I came home and did a search, she was right. That was in the fall of 2001. To make a long story short, I along with my wife Sue, opened Stampology Chicago in August of 2003. We had the store until the fall of 2009. During that time our classes were sold out for almost 5 years straight (18 customers was considered a sellout). We sold it in September of 2009 due to some health problems and here we are today. I started working for Uchida in July of 2011 and have not looked back since. My goal with this blog is to introduce you to Uchida products and how to use them in various ways and I will be introducing you to some of my former employees. I can say my employees were a big part of our 5 years worth of sold out classes.
I look forward to sharing new and even some old techniques with all of you and remember ...I always say "no one dies from a bad card"...... see you soon ....
